Bali looks small on a map, but traffic between areas can eat hours. The trick is to base yourself in two places, not five.
Days 1–3: Ubud
Stay in or near Ubud for the rice terraces at Tegallalang, temples and cafés. Go to the terraces early in the morning, before the crowds and the heat.
Day 4: Nusa Penida
A day trip by fast boat takes you to Kelingking Beach and its famous cliff view. Wear proper shoes: the path down is steep.
Days 5–7: the south
Move to the south for beaches, water sports and sunset at Uluwatu Temple with the Kecak dance. Tanah Lot is best at sunset too, so plan them on different evenings.
Quick tips
- Carry a light scarf or sarong for temple visits.
- Book a driver for full days; it’s often cheaper than multiple taxis.
- Keep some cash for small warungs and entry tickets.
